Seen from a floatplane the Taku River Watershed along the boarder of the US state of Alaska Southeast Region and the Northwest Canada Territory of British Columbia. The Taku River Watershed covers a variety of landscapes from rugged mountain peaks, dense valley rainforest and a multitude of glaciers which are the source of most of the rivers water. The braided channels of the river and the many small estuaries help to create the largest salmon producing river in Southeast Alaska. The Taku is also considered one of the most endangered watersheds in North America.
